Architectural
The interplay between architectural form and natural light has always fascinated me — and these paintings carry a deeper current than composition alone.
Windows left ajar, curtains caught mid-flow, light insisting its way through an opening: these subjects called to me because I personally needed to consider what they represented. The transformative effect of choosing to let light in, of opening up to what lies beyond an apparently solid or immovable form, became a recurring theme that informed my own thinking during the painting process itself — and continues to offer quiet nudges to anyone who spends time with these works.
