If peonies and wisteria are your thing…

As the Spring Exhibition at Gallery Fifty Five draws to a close, and as I sit here looking at the big blowsy peonies in a jug right in front of me, I thought I would just say a few words to celebrate this favourite flower of mine. My contribution to the current exhibition is a bare-faced celebration of springtime which, for me, quite literally means light filled blossom, bluebells, lime green vistas and light tinged lambs – but the peonies remain my favourite out of this collection of subjects and there are two peony themed paintings included at Gallery Fifty Five, as well as a quantity of wisteria paintings (which, I also note from where I am sitting, has just come into flower in my garden) plus the mayflower that came and went earlier this month.  These spring themed blooms will only be on display for a further ten days, to be replaced by the Summer Exhibition which opens on June 8th – in which I will be featuring work on an entirely different theme….so if blooms are your thing, you’d better get along to Gallery Fifty Five post haste!
